I like color…anywhere I see it….colorful personalities, colorful people. Look at the natural world….I choose to see and emphasize the color in it and that is what I paint….even if it’s not there. It’s in my mind and spirit and I want to share that way of enjoying the world. I want to paint something that keeps me wanting to return to the picture to see what else I can discover. I want to let the paint creatively find a path on the canvas.

I have been painting since the age of five. It still excites me and I hope this joy comes out in my work. When it creatively happens, there is often a mystery to the process. It is like walking a tightrope between freedom and controlled expression with color. I will not be a slave to a photo or nature, but change it as I desire.
